Google: “Though IPv4 plays an important role in the Internet, as our goal is to enable open innovation, support for the protocol will be removed and our resources directed towards completely new technologies, such as IPv6.”
It's satire. In some ways, the reasoning that led Google to drop support for H.264, if taken to extremes, could be used to support the logic of dropping IPv4. I was merely pointing out, in a funny way, the parallel between the two situations, and the absurdity of the original H.264 decision.
