If you read Proudfoot's docs [ https://www.mralligator.com/rcx/ ] you'll find that what Lego did was half VM half native half "well, it depends".
There's a BIOS/stdlib, which in turn boots a userspace OS held in RAM ("firmware") that then executes the assembled mini-VM. However, there was nothing keeping people from rewriting the in-ram OS with something else, which led to BrickOS, jeJOS, pbForth, ROBOLAB, etc.
I spent many, MANY hours of my youth hacking on the RCX and am damn sad that there isn't currently a good replacement for it.
What kind of UserAgent is being used? This could be easily used in good faith by the sending party, then any spam blockers can remove everything from said UserAgent. If they then change their UserAgent to something generic, you know who's acting in bad faith.
> All these changes have got some partners “feeling let down and misled by OpenAI,” a person familiar with Microsoft’s decision said. Thankfully, the software giant has stepped in on some of the projects that the startup has supposedly abandoned. One source told the publication that money is not unlimited, no matter what Sam Altman might say, while another said that they prefer Microsoft over OpenAI as a tenant, as “they are more creditworthy.”
Agreed, it’s actually one of my favorite tv input devices because it has the 7-8 only buttons I ever use on a tv remote without any other gimmicks like crappy infrared pointers. Plus it has Find My integration for when my kids inevitably kick it under the sofa.
Edit: the apple touchpad swipe remote was definitely a chore to use
Apple tried to be different by releasing the first gen version with trackpad but eventually caved in for D pad like others lol. I do remember swiping for every single x/y movement on screen felt like a chore.
