OP isn't criticizing the practise of leaving to renew. He's criticizing the this new policy of not letting you back in when you leave.

You obviously weren't in high school at the time the OC was on. Everybody watched it. I don't think I've ever viewed Ben as anyone other than Ryan Atwood ever since.

The first two seasons were really good. So good it kinda surprised me on a rewatch. After that it went downhill though.

I can not imagine it holds up well ...

Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do .. California here we come ... Right just where were coming from ....

i know him as from the tv show but only watched a few episodes. he has done many movies and journalism now. not everyone has to be an OC superfan.

Perphaps Ryan was scammed by Volchok

You clearly missed Southland.

I didn't. Ryan Atwood was great in Southland.

This seems like a much much harder problem than having a model translate between the two languages. I think people in general are way overvaluing determinism. In most cases, it doesn’t matter if the output from two runs is different as long as it accomplishes the desired goal.

Never thought of cross language code mods to be a thing but surely there are libraries out there that deal with the interop of different ASTs across languages? Seems like an interesting area of research.

I have serious doubts that their detection will be good enough, especially in cases where it's not 100% AI generated. The EDM and hip hop genres relies heavily on samples, and I guarantee all the sample services all being pumped full of AI generated creations. Many artists using the sample won't even know they using things that are AI generated.

Sure, if you're referring to people who actually play instruments or sing. Electronic music shows are mostly DJing though.

Rocket Lab's market cap is 57B and are buying Iridium for 8B. I'm assuming you're implying some other measure of worth, but it's not that crazy based on stock price.

Also folks acquire things "worth" more than them all the time. That's in part why debt exists.

There are a lot of folks out there that are overly cynical and so they'll just write things like the OP from time to time which just don't make much sense or have much to do with how the real world works. What's more interesting is looking at or trying to understand strategically why Rocket Lab is making this move, especially if you are an investor.

How do you know the changes aren’t placebo?

Because I was suicidal, had extreme mood swings and all of the muscle pain and instability.

I didn't even know about vit D, didn't research it. I just got a panel done to get an idea of what's going on with me and discovered I was severely deficient on vit D

If inflation due to energy costs is running hot they’ll have to raise rates which will cause stock prices to fall.

We are bottlenecked at energy supply, not running hot via demand. Raising rates is likely to stifle already weak sections of the economy. Additionally, we are getting into territory where raising rates threatens our own ability to pay our debt.

Just to be clear, I am not coming at this from some anti-interventionist or anti-monetary tool standpoint. It's just that demand side tools seem like the wrong lever for the job. We are backing slowly into the corner of persistent inflation or structural failure of some kind.

In what way?

lots of different ways, the loss of a child the potential loss of two children, the powerlessness and despair the parents would have been feeling... turning to AI which might have a positive outcome but many of us are not very trusting of the tool.

Its a sad story. I wish them well, I hope this is one of those scenarios that AI works exactly as desired.

My technical take from this story was that human-run labs turned out to be less reliable than current AI.

This is the sort of performance/quality gap that is not obviously seen (who in the general population understands lab protocols in detail?) and could be massively improved with AI.
