NGL I like modern Angular more than React, but I never experienced v1 of AngularJS so I don't know how much of modern Angular is influenced by React.

I like that it's a framework with opinions vs React which is a "Library".

How is this "dead simple" engine simpler than creating a HTML file and hosting that on a webserver? I couldn't find an explanation of why this is "dead simple".

Why is it absurd?

For the same reason others have explained here and elsewhere, with some writing entire articles on the topic. Compilers produce semantically equivalent translation of source code into target code. That's not at all what LLMs do. They produce unpredictable results from ambiguous specifications written by people who may or may not understand software engineering. Big difference.

They are asking candidates to do work in their repo and taking it to prod? That feels odd.

The repo in question is for the take home exercise that candidates go through.

Aren't there tons of scam interviews these days where there is malware in the build script of their repo of the take home exam?
